Considering the truly appalling weather we had in the week prior to the big day, I am delighted to say the evening went off incredibly well. For those who ventured out I am sure you will all agree it was a brilliant display even though the elements did all they could to dampen both the spirit and the fireworks. Thank you so much for supporting our event and fully justifying our decision to go ahead, when so many other events across the country were cancelled.
Thanks go to all of you who helped build the bonfire and, of course, grateful thanks to Blamphayne Sawmills who donated the wood. Thanks, of course, must go to Mike Fielden and his team who set up and fired a spectacular firework display and it is pleasing to confirm they all emerged unscathed from the experience! Thanks also to Hazel Goodier and her team of cooks and servers for laying on an amazing array of fantastic dishes. It is a huge compliment to Branscombe that the vast majority of the ingredients were locally sourced. There were also a number of people who helped before the day, on the day and into the evening. The list is long, too long to include here, but you know who you are. It simply would not have been possible without your contribution of time and energy. Thank you very much from all of us who so enjoyed the evening. David Lamb Chairman
